Full Helmet Scam
From the Dark RuneScape Wiki - follow the rules, or else!
The Full Helmet Scam is when a seller puts in a Full Helmet in the trade screen and replaces it with a medium helmet. It is not fully extinct yet, but has lessened since the invention of the Second Trade Screen. It is a reportable offence under Rule 2.
[edit] Example
- Buyer says: Buying Rune full helm 30k.
- A seller trades the buyer.
- The seller puts in a Rune full helmet. He quickly takes it out and puts in a Rune medium helmet.
- The buyer does not notice the Trade Modified sign.
- The buyer clicks accept twice.
- The buyer is scammed.
[edit] Alternate Way
Because of the new Trade Screen, there is a new scam method to watch out for. Below is somewhat, an example.
- Buyer says: Buying Rune full helm 30k.
- A seller trades the buyer.
- The seller puts in a Rune full helmet and purposely clicks decline.
- The seller says Oops! to make it look like an accident.
- The seller offers another trade and this time puts in a Rune med helm which is only worth about 8-10K on the streets.
- The buyer is overjoyed and doesn't care about checking the second trade screen. Both click accept twice.
- The seller might say 'nub' or something like that and log out.
- The buyer reports the seller for breaching Rule 2.
